Current anthem.
Sums up the effort 2019 took and the amount of stepping up in energy 2020 is going to demand.
Thank fuck it is a pure banger of a remix. Soulwax do not deliver anything less though. Hope Marie Davidson likes it.

Soulwax 6 Music Christmas Mix
Yes, we are very much post the event -- and I hope it was a good 'un, BTW -- but if you have any capacity left and a smidgen of Christmas cheer that doesn't quite want to budge yet, then check out this mix by Soulwax.
A roaring ride that will help keep the sharp teeth of reality from biting for just another 20 minutes.
Then I guess it is back to a partial return to the 'real world'.
What is this so-called real world I keep hearing so much about anyway?

A slight return..
It has been two years since I last posted. It was never about the immediacy. So you'll forgive me, I'm sure.
A great deal has changed and maybe I am seeking solace in the old familiarity of Pop Cultureddd.
So why not trot out an new-old cliche?
Soulwax have remixed Huarache Lights by Hot Chip. Of course they have. Why wouldn't they? Just like it is still 2007-8. Every track needs additional obligatory handclaps. So remix away, Boys!
The result is taking an already soaring, wobbly-where-needed track and make it, well, more soaring and wobbly. With a bit of added funk.

Paul Chambers and 2manydjs

Not really being in the loop anymore with the ol' electro/dance/techno genres means I had not come across Paul Chambers until The Bearded Boy sent me a YouTube video of a 2manydjs at Coachella, which was mainly intended to demonstrate the crazy-awesome visuals that had been difficult to describe in conversation (see below). And other than reminding me that all work/reading/eating cake makes Stephanie a dull, wide-hipped girl highlighting the desperate need for some rollicking dancing to let off steam, the other thing I garnered from it was the amazing Paul Chambers track.
But how very lame! I can't embed the original. So you can have the link that will take you to the Paul Chambers SoundCloud page. And here is the Soulwax remix. Don't worry it hasn't got any of those 'Soulwax claps'. Phew!

Illness...

I feel like I am dying.
But I am vehemently fighting off whatever it may be because I go away to London on Friday. Arcade Fire probably wouldn't appreciate me being ill.
Anyway. Get this round your ears.
Scissor Sisters - She's My Man (Goose remix)
About time someone realised the potential of Scissor Sisters to its full extent. But then again I have recently become quite partial, more than quite, a lot partial to Goose. Descendants of the wonderous Soulwax and hopping straight out of Belguim, Goose are causing more sexual excitement in me than I thought was possible. A penchant for a distorted guitar riff is my weakness, and, well, these guys do it flawlessly as one can expect from hot distortion.
However, I do feel rather twee today. Probably because I'm ill and I need to take the pace a little more slowly and less bass driven. I think some Tom McRae would be best suited.
I encourage you to purchase Scissor Sisters new single that has that awesome Goose remix on it. Get it here.
