I think I might have broken my car. And if I have I would like to be reimbursed by Toddla T.
The Fabric Mix he did back in 2009 has broken my car and made me do some pretty wild dancing this week.
This track by Drums of Death when it drops is almost impossible to not turn the volume up.
No one has ever witnessed this. This is alone driving!

Carey Lander RIP
Over the years I posted several blogs related to Camera Obscura. Oddly enough, this post was directly linked to both the band and grief: http://popcultureddd.blogspot.co.uk/2007/11/camera-obscura.html
Nearly 8 years on I could have never have thought was the post would be so resonant (regardless of my grieving misanthropy). I posted that song in my time of loss, and it seems now the perfect tribute to share this particular track again.
The loss of Carey Lander will be felt by all fans of the band.

John Grant
Disappointing, this song is not. Or the performance. What a range! Deep velvet lows and beautiful rocketing highs.
As it is a Thursday morning I will post the live performance from Jools (Holland himself does not feature - you are welcome), as the official video is too much. Especially for me. If you can cope, be my guest and go here... Officially Steamy Video

A slight return..
It has been two years since I last posted. It was never about the immediacy. So you'll forgive me, I'm sure.
A great deal has changed and maybe I am seeking solace in the old familiarity of Pop Cultureddd.
So why not trot out an new-old cliche?
Soulwax have remixed Huarache Lights by Hot Chip. Of course they have. Why wouldn't they? Just like it is still 2007-8. Every track needs additional obligatory handclaps. So remix away, Boys!
The result is taking an already soaring, wobbly-where-needed track and make it, well, more soaring and wobbly. With a bit of added funk.
